De Amerikaanse psychedelische rockband Flaming Lips ontstaat in 1983 in Oklahoma. In 1999 scoort de band een klein radiohitje in Nederland met 'Race For The Prize'. De Flaming Lips delen begin 2003 tijdens een aflevering van Top Of The Pops het podium met een groot fan: Justin Timberlake. Ze staan bekend om hun uitbundige en kleurrijke liveshows.
